How Did Idiomas del Sol Start?
Every remarkable project has a unique story behind it, and Idiomas del Sol is no exception.
The journey of Idiomas del Sol began when I was working as an Au Pair in southern Spain. Two years in Spain brought me far more than I initially expected.
I imagined sunny days on the beach and nights out at clubs, but what I truly found was deeper inspiration and clarity about where I wanted to channel my energy in life.
At the time, I had no idea that my story would eventually inspire others and help them on their journeys toward their dreams.
Creative ideas flowed naturally as I lived outside my comfort zone, driven by my inner need for self-discovery.
Each morning, I dedicated time to the sunrise and to healing my soul, which also had a profound impact on my physical health.
The sun—el sol—became a significant part of my life and inspired the name of the project. I felt its energy not only awakened me but also had the power to uplift others.
The Turning Point
After two years in a luxury apartment overlooking the sea, I made the bold decision to move into a broken-down caravan in the middle of a field.
This radical change wasn’t about dissatisfaction with my role as an Au Pair; it was about the excitement of starting from scratch and creating something of my own.
For three months, I lived without Wi-Fi or air conditioning, facing the daily challenges of high temperatures. It wasn’t easy, but this period shaped me and remains incredibly meaningful in my life.
It was here that I realized my inner strength and gained the courage to step beyond my comfort zone. This bold move gave birth to my creative energy and a clear vision of the future.
This is where the story of Idiomas del Sol truly began.
The Evolution of Teaching
While in Spain, I developed my unique teaching method. Initially, I taught English to children in a small village, experimenting with new approaches and observing their effectiveness.
Children loved learning, and parents joined us too, leading to collective progress that inspired me to extend this method to adults. I believed that learning doesn’t have to rely on dull grammar or memorization.
I wanted to eliminate the fear of speaking and create an environment where learning is fun and joyful.
When I moved to Málaga, I began teaching online, which connected me with many of you, especially during the pandemic. Our online sessions became spaces not just for language learning but also for sharing stories, supporting one another, and self-discovery.
The Growth of Idiomas del Sol
Today, Idiomas del Sol offers not only language courses but also experiential and spiritual retreats in southern Spain. These retreats provide opportunities for relaxation, self-development, and finding new energy to propel you forward.

About Our Founder, Ivanka
I founded Idiomas del Sol in 2018 and now live in Tarifa with Maui. Spain healed me, and now I’m passing on everything I’ve learned and experienced.
While I occasionally return to teaching English or Spanish during retreats, my primary mission is to open minds, help with transformation, and guide others toward self-acceptance.
I create personalized teaching materials, meditations, and ceremonies, and lead chakra harmonization and spiritual guidance during retreats.
I am honored to meet many of you in Spain during group or individual retreats, as well as in Slovakia, where I organize women’s circles, cacao ceremonies, and one-on-one sessions. I also offer individual counseling, healing, and spiritual guidance for expectant mothers.
About Zuzka Joining the Team
In 2021, I joined Ivanka’s chakra harmonization course, long before I knew I would become part of her team. Originally, I traveled to Spain for an intensive Spanish course, but the harmonization session was offered as an additional activity.
I had been trying to meditate for over a year without much success, so I decided to give it a shot. Ivanka opened doors to things I hadn’t even dreamed of.
Since 2023, I’ve worked with Ivanka on the Idiomas del Sol project, teaching yoga and English, organizing retreats, and managing marketing.
In 2024, I founded my own marketing firm, Elysiumm, working with diverse clients from different countries. This allows me to thrive creatively while collaborating with various brands.
After ten years in Denmark, I’m now moving to sunny Italy and looking forward to every retreat with Idiomas del Sol, where we can share everything we have to offer.
